ATTORNEYS:

The firm has many years experience representing both secured and unsecured creditors, commercial debtors, and investors in all types and sizes of bankruptcies, including real property, construction, and personal bankruptcy involving business owners. We have served as counsel to creditors, creditors’ committees and informal groups of creditors in many of the largest bankruptcy cases filed in the metropolitan area in Missouri and Kansas. Our litigators have initiated and defended a broad range of bankruptcy adversary proceedings, including avoidance actions, actions to determine the secured status of creditors, involuntary bankruptcy filings, and a host of other contract disputes. In addition, we counsel companies and their owners on reorganizing their business affairs and on their duties and obligations to creditors outside of formal bankruptcy proceedings.

The firm has also represented creditors in state court insurance insolvency proceedings and in disputes arising out of insurance company reorganization and liquidation proceedings.

The firm’s experience permits it to determine the most effective way to help resolve bankruptcy and business restructuring issues while keeping the client informed and in control of those matters affecting it. We listen and respond to our clients’ bottom line goals in applying our skills, knowledge and resources to help them solve their business problems. When necessary, we litigate otherwise unresolvable bankruptcy and insolvency issues. Our attorneys practicing in the bankruptcy and creditors’ rights area are able to draw upon the broad expertise of the entire firm in dealing with issues which arise in the reorganization and insolvency arena. Recognizing that bankruptcy and business restructuring can be particularly stressful for both the creditors and the debtors, the firm works hard to expeditiously achieve our clients’ goals while protecting our clients’ interests, whether this be done through litigation or out of court work outs.
