Our attorneys are highly experienced in all aspects of construction and surety law practice, emphasizing litigation, labor law issues, and general business advice to contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, owners, sureties, designers and lenders. We have represented parties in construction lawsuits and arbitrations throughout the nation. We also assist parties in day to day aspects of construction, including contract review and negotiation, preparation of contract letters and notices, negotiation with other parties to resolve disputes, preparation of mechanic’s liens and surety bond claims, handling of bidding mistakes and protests, and advice on labor law issues.

Our attorneys are recognized for the depth and breadth of their construction law expertise and are frequent speakers and writers at construction industry seminars presented by national seminar organizations, bar associations, national surety organizations and the Builders Association of Missouri. William J. DeBauche has taught Construction Law for over ten years as an adjunct professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Law School.

We are frequently sought out to resolve construction disputes through mediation and arbitration, both through representation of clients and by serving as the arbitrator or mediator. Steve Ruprecht and Bill DeBauche are on the panel of construction arbitrators of the American Arbitration Association and have presided over many construction arbitrations.
